Job Description

Seeking Closing Specialist with experience documenting commercial loans. This position involves performing the functions following credit approval to loan closing with an emphasis on preparing loan documents, reviewing loan documents when prepared by Bank counsel, and pre-boarding review of loan documents. Interaction will occur primarily with the Borrower, the Bank’s underwriting and loan operations teams, and Bank’s legal counsel. Interaction will also be required with the sales team and the Chief Lending Officer.
• Manage the loan closing process from loan approval through document execution.
• Prepare loan documents for Commercial loans in accordance with loan approval memo.
• Review loan documents as prepared by Bank counsel to ensure accuracy and compliance with the loan approval terms and conditions.
• Review Borrower entity formation and organization documents.
• Assist in procurement from Borrower, or third parties, of required business formation and organizational documents and other required certificates.
• Provide loan documents to Borrower via DocuSign.
• Monitor and manage process with Borrower to allow for timely return of executed documents; answer questions and guide Borrower through the process; engage underwriting and loan operations teams when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the loan process (Relationship Manager, Portfolio Manager, Bank attorney, Loan Operations Department).
• Continuously update loan origination system with loan information and status.
• Conduct final review of the legal file / executed closing documents utilizing a checklist.
• Prepare and file UCCs.
• Upload final closed loan documents in origination system and shared drive.
• Manage and clear assigned post-closing exceptions.
• Provide Bank Counsel invoice to Loan Operations, when applicable.
• Request payoff letters from existing creditors, when applicable.
• Paralegal Certification preferred, but not required
• Closing / document preparation experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with DocuSign preferred, but not required
• Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and in a team environment
• Organized and detail oriented
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
