Job Description

New Product Development
- Manage all aspects of product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities (feature definition to launch and support)
- Serve as the expert for products and features you own and drive
- Analyze market trends, voice-of-customer requirements, and competitive strategy to identify opportunities to increase customer and business value through product differentiation with Strategic Market Manager
- Develop business cases for (or against) new products based on markets needs and gaps
- Oversee product development, defining the product strategy and assist in managing the product road map
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards
- Support sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise
- Conduct product, sales, and distributor training presentations
- Develop pricing strategies with the Pricing Manager
- Support global marketing planning activities, including tradeshows, ads, and online activity selections with the Regional Sales & Marketing teams

Current Products
- Develop portfolio analysis of company products versus domestic and foreign competitors
- Develop transition plans for major product updates such as motor transitions

Legacy Products
- For products being replaced with new products, develop transitions plan to ensure quick conversion which includes support customer test requirements and limit stranded inventory
- Using 8020 methodology, continually analyze company's current portfolio for opportunities to reduce complexity, improve profitability and exit poor performing models

Perform other assignments as directed by the Business Line Director
Measures of Performance
- New Product Sales, PBIT, productivity, SKU reduction

- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, business, engineering discipline, or technical degree
- 5+ years of Product Management experience required; preferably with a B2B or manufacturing company
- Experience working with air moving products preferred
- Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office software – particularly Excel and PowerPoint

- Integrity, trust, and interpersonal savvy
- Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent communication/presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical skills: ability to assess situations and make sound decisions with incomplete information
- Ability to manage by influence in a matrix-managed organization
- Experience working closely with Engineering to ensure appropriate trade-offs during product development are discussed and decided upon, and projects are completed on time
- Ability to prioritize activities and drive to achieve goals
