Job Description
The Scrum Master serves as a servant leader and Agile coach, enabling Scrum teams to deliver high-quality solutions and maximize business value for their customers. This role partners with development teams, Product Owners, and organizational leadership to promote effective Scrum practices, remove impediments, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The Scrum Master facilitates Scrum events, coaches teams toward greater self-organization and cross-functionality, helps resolve issues outside the team's control, and supports teams in achieving their Sprint goals. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across organizational levels and helping teams continuously improve their processes, communication, and delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Agile Leadership & Coaching
• Coach and mentor Scrum teams in Agile principles, Scrum practices, and effective team collaboration.
• Foster self-organizing, cross-functional, and accountable teams focused on delivering business value.
• Coach Product Owners, stakeholders, and leadership on effective Agile practices and interactions with Scrum teams.
Scrum Facilitation & Delivery
• Facilitate Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Support teams in establishing and achieving Sprint goals based on business priorities and available capacity.
• Identify, communicate, and help resolve or escalate impediments that impact team progress.
• Help protect teams from unnecessary interruptions and unplanned work that could affect Sprint commitments.
Continuous Improvement
• Use Agile metrics, team feedback, and observations to identify opportunities to improve team performance and delivery.
• Facilitate continuous improvement efforts and help teams develop and implement actionable improvements.
Communication & Collaboration
• Promote clear communication and collaboration among Scrum teams, Product Owners, leadership, and other stakeholders.
• Track and communicate project issues, risks, decisions, dependencies, and action items to appropriate stakeholders.
• Provide Scrum and Agile training and onboarding support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field, or o 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
• 4 years of Agile experience
• 3 years project and/or team coordination
• 1 year of experience as a Scrum Master for software development teams
• 3 years business analysis or product or software design / development, preferred
• 2 years of experience supporting the Healthcare industry
• Experience instilling Agile values and making teams productive at any level of maturity
• Agile coaching experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe
• Strong analytical skills; able to analyze and document project issues, decision logs, action items and risk associated with the project
• Experience working in a Matrixed Organization
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Strong Communication skills
