Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will be an integral member of the healthcare team, supporting providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This role combines direct patient care with clinical and administrative responsibilities in a collaborative outpatient practice.
RESPONIBILITIES
* Prepare patients for appointments by obtaining vital signs, medical history, medication information, and other clinical data.
* Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
* Perform clinical tests, screenings, and medication administration in accordance with established policies and protocols.
* Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
* Communicate with patients regarding follow-up care, test results, and provider instructions.
* Prepare and maintain exam rooms, medical equipment, and clinical supplies.
* Clean and sterilize instruments following infection prevention standards.
* Complete laboratory quality control and equipment checks as assigned.
* Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support daily office operations.
* Travel between practice locations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Graduate of a Medical Assistant program within the past five years, **or** at least one year of recent clinical Medical Assistant experience within the past three years.
* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
CERTIFICATIONS & CLEARANCES
* Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance, and Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Clearance are required.
* Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification.
* Medical Assistants who are not certified at the time of hire must meet company certification requirements within the designated timeframe. Accepted certifications include AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, and AMCA. Eligible employees may also have the opportunity to complete a company-sponsored certification pathway.
