Job Description
The TOS Implementation Manager leads the full deployment of Terminal Operating Systems across one or more port or terminal facilities. This role oversees planning, configuration, testing, training, and go-live support to ensure successful implementation aligned with operational goals and IT standards. The manager serves as the primary liaison between vendors, internal teams, and terminal operations to deliver scalable and efficient systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead end-to-end TOS implementation projects, including planning, timelines, budgets, and resource coordination.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as IT, operations, engineering, and external vendors.
• Create and maintain documentation describing terminal processes before and after TOS deployment.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure implementation success (e.g., berth productivity, crane productivity, rehandling rates, truck turnaround time).
• Oversee system configuration, customization, and integration with ERP systems, gate systems, yard equipment, and related technologies.
• Ensure effective data migration, interface development, and system testing.
• Serve as the main contact for stakeholders, leading workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and progress updates.
• Develop training materials, conduct user training, and support change management efforts.
• Manage all go-live activities including cutover planning, issue resolution, and performance monitoring.
• Provide post-implementation support and ongoing system optimization.
Qualifications
• 5 years of experience in systems implementation.
• Experience with TOS implementation or terminal operations preferred.
• Understanding of terminal workflows (yard, gate, vessel, rail) is beneficial.
• Background working with complex systems in essential or high-demand environments.
• Strong project management abilities; PMP certification preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in logistics, container operations, bulk, or RoRo terminal environments preferred.
• Familiarity with EDI, OCR, RFID, and automation technologies preferred.
